Taz's Story

Taz is an 8-pound black Pomeranian mix with a big personality and an even bigger opinion about airplanes.
This neutered little guy moved into his foster home a few weeks ago and settled in quickly with the resident dog crew: two Chihuahuas and a Yorkie. He gets along very well with other small dogs — they eat together, sleep together, and spend their days racing around the yard together.
Taz is house-trained and does great with a routine. He follows the other dogs outside to take care of business and then happily heads back inside. He has plenty of energy and absolutely loves running and playing in the yard. His favorite hobbies include chasing birds, squirrels, deer, and airplanes. Since his foster home sits under a flight path, Taz takes his self-appointed runway security duties very seriously and races across the yard every time a plane flies overhead. He remains confident that one day he will catch one.
Inside the house, Taz has a softer side. In the evenings he settles down nicely and enjoys relaxing next to his foster mom while she watches TV or works on the computer. He loves toys, especially squeaky toys and balls, and he proudly keeps his favorites tucked into his bed at night. He also loves treats, which makes training much easier.
Taz is currently learning some household manners, including waiting patiently for a release word before diving into dinner. He thinks this rule is deeply unfair, but he’s trying his best.
Taz is affectionate and loves cuddles and scratches from adults he trusts. Because small children can make him nervous and uncomfortable, he would do best in a home with older kids only, preferably teenagers 15 and up.
If you’re looking for a funny, active, affectionate little dog with lots of personality and excellent airplane surveillance skills, Taz may be your guy.

Being fostered in MD. Can be adopted from MD, DC or VA
