At just 2 years old and 25 pounds, this adorable terrier mix has already been through more than most dogs ever should, but you would never know it from the joy she carries every single day.<br/><br/>Tatum was originally adopted from the shelter but sadly surrendered earlier this year. After entering rescue, we learned she had suffered a spinal injury near her tail that left her incontinent. While we may never know exactly what happened to her, specialists believe it was likely caused by some type of traumatic injury. Despite visits with specialists and acupuncture treatments, her condition is considered permanent.<br/><br/>But heres the thing about Tatum she does not let it define her.<br/><br/>This girl RUNS. She plays. She zooms around the yard with her funny little gait and lives life with pure excitement. She loves walks, car rides, other dogs, and making everyone laugh with her goofy antics. Shes incredibly social and loves every person she meets. Tatum has the sweetest habit of tilting her head and locking eyes with you like she understands every single word youre saying.<br/><br/>Shes also wonderfully cooperative with her care. Since she is incontinent, she does need to be expressed throughout the day and wears a diaper at night, but she handles it all like a champ. She just wants so badly to be included, loved, and treated like every other dog.<br/><br/>Tatum is the kind of dog that leaves a mark on your heart.
