Tati *In Foster Home*'s Story

Hi, my name is Tati! I'm a PURPLE pawprint, which means I will fit well into a home that meets some specific criteria. Here is what would work best for me in my new home:

Personality: Sweet, playful/energetic, snuggly, sensitive, and strong-willed
Can Live with Kids: Unknown history. We are recommending kids around 12 years and up.
Can Live with Cats: Unknown history but loves to chase birds, squirrels, etc., so may have stronger prey drive.
Can Live with Dogs: Yes! Would likely benefit from an older sibling to play with and learn from. Initial greetings will be done at WHS to ensure all dogs get along.
Can do Apartment Living: Possible with plenty of exercise but would love a yard to run around in and for potty breaks. At counselor’s discretion.
Potty Trained: Working on it!
Bite History: No
Positive Reward Based Obedience Classes Required: Yes, a 6 week puppy course
Energy Level: High (GO!, GO!, GO!, and then NAP.)
Needs Medical Procedure Before Going Home: No, ready to go!

Additional info: Hello new friend! I'm Tati, a sweet and spunky 7-month-old pit bull puppy. I was found as a stray, so my history before coming to WHS is unknown. I’ve been in a foster home this past month learning all sorts of new skills like potty training and basic commands like sit, down, look at me, stay, leave it, and more. I love playing with toys, whether with people or throwing them around for myself! I also don’t mind taking a bath, getting my nails clipped, or having my feet cleaned when we come in from muddy hikes.
Not to be vain, but I’m pretty darn cute, so people tend to want to meet me when I’m out-and-about—but that’s all good with me because I LOVE meeting new people and all of the attention they give me! My foster mom says I need to work on not jumping up when saying hello, but how else can I give hugs?
I’ve got A LOT of puppy energy, a good helping of moxie (foster mom says I’m in my stubborn adolescence phase; I say I just know better), and there are so many things to see and do in the world that I am pretty easily distracted (Bird! Leaf! Sticks—my favorite!). I am highly treat-motivated though, so maybe these positive reinforcement training classes everyone keeps talking about could be something I enjoy.
I also LOVE playing with other dogs and have received great notes about my interactions at Tails-A-Wagging daycare and during playgroup at the shelter. Honestly, I think I might really enjoy an older brother or sister to learn from—sometimes dogs just make more sense to me than humans, you know? They could help me build more confidence about the big world around me, which can be loud and scary sometimes. Plus, then we can wrestle and chase each other, and oh-boy won’t that be fun!
If you're interested in adopting Tati, please fill out an application for review!
