Tater Tot (bonded pair)'s Story

Adoptable dog alert, meet Tater Tot! He's a tricolored Chihuahua mix. He's 9 years old and about 17 lbs. He's neutered, heartworm negative, and up-to-date on vaccines and monthly prevention. Tater Tot and sister Sheba are bonded and must be adopted together.

About Tater Tot and Sheba:
- Bonded pair
- Good w/ other small dogs
- Good w/dog-savvy cats

Their ideal home:
- Securely fenced yard
- Adults, respectful teens

Tater Tot is an inquisitive gentleman with a calm energy about him. Like many Chihuahuas he needs slow introductions to new people and noisy environments. While he can be skittish at first, if you give him space then he'll warm up you to you. Once he's decided that you're his people, he'll happily follow you around. He likes to give surprise water quality inspections. Water coming out of the hose must be sampled, if you've come out of the shower, he'll lick your leg to confirm the indoor water quality. He's a gentleman that way.

Tater Tot is a good boy, he's more reserved than Sheba and can be a bit needier. They're typical siblings, they play, they fight, and they hangout. When it comes to food, they must be fed separately as they'll growl and fuss at each other. This may change over time as they're reminded that food isn't a limited commodity and there's plenty to go around. This heart melting duo is ready for their fur-ever home, with plenty of food and love to go around.

Tater Tot and Sheba are ready for their fur-ever family and must be adopted together. These inquisitive siblings need a securely fenced yard and supervision while they go out to do their business. They did fine coexisting with a smaller dog and cats in their temp foster home. They gave Byron and the cats space once they realized neither wanted to play with them. They haven't met any kids, it's likely they'd be okay with respectful teens who understand that they'll need space and time to adjust.

And learn more about Tater Tot on his profile:
https://www.fawnssmalldogrescue.org/adoptable-dogs/tater-tot

Check out Sheba's full profile to learn more about her:
https://www.fawnssmalldogrescue.org/adoptable-dogs/sheba

Keep in mind the following when you apply:
- Adoption radius is 150 miles from Jacksonville, FL
- Each dog's adoption donation listed in their profile on our site.
- All other pets in the home must be current on vaccinations, spayed/neutered, and on heartworm/flea/tick prevention.

Fawn's Small Dog Rescue's Adoption Policy
If you are interested adopting please fill out our adoption application. Potential adopters must be 21 years or older. Adoption donations range from $175 to $500 and are based on the individual dogs and their age, needs, and medical expenses (paid out while in our care). ALL adoption donation fees go to our foster dogs and their veterinary care and needs. This empowers us to continue saving lives. Fawn's does a veterinarian and reference check. Your application will be denied if the animals you own are not properly vaccinated, neutered and spayed, and up to date on their heartworm and other preventative medications. We do our best to select the family and home that we feel is ideal based on the unique needs of each dog. Our adoption process includes a Home Visit which we complete as a part of the Meet and Greet. At the end of the Meet and Greet, those who pass the Home Visit have the opportunity to sign the adoption contract and begin their 7-day pre-adoption trial. This is to ensure that you have found the right fit for your family. Review our adoption process: https://www.fawnssmalldogrescue.org/adoption-process
