Tanner's Story

Meet Tanner!

Tanner is a sweet, soulful hound mix born around mid-September 2025, and she’s the kind of puppy who quietly steals your heart. She can be a bit reserved at first, but once she feels safe, her loving personality shines—especially if there are treats involved! Tanner is very food-motivated and eager to learn, which is already helping her pick up the basics. She pretty much knows her name and is working on “sit,” with more progress every day.

This girl is a certified cuddle monster. Her favorite activity, hands down, is curling up on top of you while you watch TV. If you’re looking for a puppy who wants to be close, Tanner is your match. She’s very curious about people and absolutely loves gentle affection, pets, and being doted on. She’s also interested in other dogs and enjoys their company.

Tanner sleeps through the night (until almost 7 a.m.!) and is doing well settling in. She is working on her potty training—as most puppies her age have to do—but she’s learning and will continue to improve with structure, consistency and patience.

With her houndy good looks and gentle nature, we wouldn’t be surprised if Tanner has a little Vizsla in her mix. Because of her hound genetics and lack of exposure, we’re not sure how she’d do with cats, and she hasn’t had any known experience with them yet.

If you’re looking for a tender, affectionate puppy who wants nothing more than to love and be loved (preferably from your lap), Tanner may be the perfect addition to your home.

To meet Tanner, please apply online as the first step, and we will be in touch!
https://poundpuppyrescue.org/adoptapp.php
