TANNER's Story
Tanny is a very sweet and sensitive guy, who unfortunately entered the shelter system as a baby at only 6 months of age. After some time, Tanner could no longer live at the shelter, getting flagged as a “poor quality of life” pup, as he was battling very poor skin reactions and anxiety. Tanny’s beloved volunteer friends worked hard to promote and campaign for him to find a loving, long term foster where he could relax and learn! Now, at 2 years old (December baby), Tanny has blossomed into a sweet, confident, playful, cuddly, follow-you-around, people LOVING guy. Tanny has made tremendous progress in foster, proving that he is not only very smart and cuddly, but motivated to learn. Tanner has learned sit, down, wait, drop it, shake a paw, as well as some nice, foundational manners such as waiting for his dinner to be set down with a specific release command, and great progress on his recall and heel. Tanner would be a great forever fit for a dog-savvy person, as he will continue to flourish with boundaries, patience, training, and confidence in a handler. Tanny also has huge potential to live with another well-suited dog (energy/strength), as well as kids over a certain age that have an understanding of dogs. A place where he has some space to play would be best. Although Tanner is having a great time in foster, he would love nothing more than to be in his forever home with a loving family. Adopting Tanner also comes with a ton of offered support and resources from his current fosters and his friends in the Orange Dot crew!!
