Tango's Story

Tango is a gentle 9-year-old terrier mix weighing just 12 pounds, with a heart that craves love and connection—on his own terms. He adores attention and affection and is happiest when his person sits nearby, talks to him, and showers him with gentle love. While he isn’t a lapdog, Tango enjoys being close and feeling included. Tango also appreciates his independence and likes having time to himself. He’s perfectly content relaxing quietly on his own, making him a great match for a calm household that respects his need for personal space. He enjoys life’s simple pleasures: going outside and laying in the sun, chewing on bully sticks and other chewies, and playing with toys—especially ones that make noise or have squeakers. Tango would enjoy regular walks and, as long as he’s walked frequently and monitored on a leash, he does not require a fenced yard. He should not be left unsupervised outside. Tango gets along well with other dogs, particularly those his own size, and would do well in a home with or without other dogs. He’s happy sharing space but doesn’t demand constant interaction. At night, Tango snuggles into his comfy doggie bed in his foster mom’s bedroom and sleeps quietly through the night. While other dogs may climb into the big bed, Tango prefers his own cozy spot—comforted simply by knowing his person is nearby. With his peaceful temperament, gentle affection, and independent streak, Tango would thrive in a quiet, loving home where companionship is balanced with respect for his space. If you’re looking for a sweet senior dog who offers calm devotion without being clingy, Tango is ready to find his forever home. Tango is neutered, up to date on all his vaccinations, is heartworm negative and on heartworm preventative. He’s had a dental, is microchipped and dewormed. Tango’s adoption fee is $300. Out of state adopters are responsible for arranging transport. WE DO NOT SHIP DOGS. If you're looking for a very sweet and lovable little guy to join your family, please fill out an application on AAP’s website.
