Tango's Story

Hi there, I'm Tango! I'm a 11⁄2yearold, 18 pound terrier with a big heart and an even bigger wiggle. With a name like mine, you might expect fancy footwork and while I'm not quite ready for a dance floor, I do move through life with my own sweet rhythm. I take things at an easy pace and feel safest close to my people. Once I know you're mine, I'll follow you anywhere—well... maybe not in the car just yet, but I'm working on it. With patience and kindness, I'm ready to keep growing into the brave pup I'm meant to be.

Favorite Things: Tango is a sweet, expressive companion who loves simple comforts and quiet closeness. His joyful “wigglebutt” greeting is a daily highlight. He enjoys calm outdoor exploration in a secure yard and relaxing near his people. Toys aren't a big focus for him, but steady companionship means everything.

Training and Manners: Tango has good basic manners and is house trained with regular outdoor breaks. He sleeps happily in the people bed and does well with free rein of the home. Leash walking is still a work in progress, as new places can feel overwhelming, but he responds beautifully to steady guidance. His strong food motivation makes positive reinforcement training especially effective.

Health and Care: Tango is neutered, microchipped, and up to date on vaccines. He'll need monthly heart worm and flea/tick prevention, like all dogs. His coat requires grooming every 3–4 months. A predictable routine helps him continue building confidence.

Other Animals: Tango enjoys the company of other dogs and has experience with pups of all sizes. He hasn't been tested with cats, but foster thinks he would be ok with a calm feline after a proper introduction.

Children: Tango is best suited for a home with older children (10+) who understand his need for a slower pace when he's unsure.

Ideal Home: Tango needs a singlefamily home with a secure, fenced yard where he can explore safely. He feels most comfortable when someone is home often, as he's still learning that alone time is okay. A patient, experienced dog family will help him continue to blossom.

Overall: Tango is a tenderhearted, quirky and deeply lovable little dog who just needs reassurance and patience to shine. His cautiousness around cars and new experiences is part of his journey and he's already making great progress. In return, he offers loyalty, sweetness and joyful wiggles that brighten every day.

Can Tango dance his way into your heart? Then visitwww.PoodleandPoochRescue.org to fill out an adoption application. If it seems like it could be a good match, his foster family will reach out with more information. His adoption donation is $550.
