Talia's Story

Breed: Mixed breed. Mom was a bully mix, dad was a small (20 lb) Husky mix

DOB: 8/5/24

Weight: ~28 lbs, should max out at 35 lbs or less.

Likes: Playing with her foster dog sister, exploring on walks, and quietly observing the world around her. She needs time to warm up to people, especially kids.

Dislikes: Talia had not left the home she was born in until coming to the rescue. She has warmed up well to her foster family but still gets nervous on public outings.

Crate trained/House broken: Talia is about 95% housebroken. Sometimes if her humans miss a cue, she may have a piddle accident. But she's learning quickly. Does well in a crate.

Energy level: High. Enjoys a good romp outside but also content indoors with toys and the other pets in the house. Physically fenced yard required. We will not be able to accept a wireless/invisible/radio collar for this dog.

Medical notes: She has been spayed, microchipped, and is on monthly flea/tick/heartworm prevention and up to date on all vaccines.

Notes from foster: Talia is a sweet, shy girl who blossoms with patience and calm energy. She gets along well with other dogs and even cats, and enjoys playful zoomies with her foster sister. While she’s timid with new people, she will bond with those who give her time and space to feel safe. With consistency, she is growing more confident and would thrive in a home that allows her to go at her own pace. Talia is a gentle soul looking for someone to help her come out of her shell—and she’ll reward you with loyalty and love.

Talia has grown up around children and did well with them. But because she is still working on social skills with people she doesn't know, we would recommend any kids in the home are 13 or older.

If you are interested in giving Talia the permanent, loving home that she deserves, please fill out an application at the link below to get the ball rolling on a meet and greet.

https://form.jotform.com/202046006590041

If this link doesn't open by clicking on it, just copy and paste it into a new browser.

Adopters must live within a 45 mile radius of Winston-Salem. If you see a dog or puppy on our website and would like to start the process of saving a rescued animal – please email steppingstonesrescue@gmail.com and request an application. The application will be processed by an adoption counselor. We will make contact with you to answer any questions you may have and review your application. Incomplete applications will not be considered, as the information you give us on your application is essential in determining the compatibility of the dog you have requested with your life-style. At this time, we will also conduct a vet reference to determine the health of your past and current animals. ALL potential adoptive families must have up-to-date veterinary records on all pets currently residing in the home.
