Taffy's Story

We are excited to share that sweet Taffy is now available for adoption.

Taffy is a 6-yr old Wheaten girl, and she is fostered in Omaha. Taffy lived the first 4.5 years with a senior lady, who sadly passed away. At that time, the lady's family took Taffy in, but they have a young family and Taffy was just a bit overwhelmed by the little ones. She doesn't have a mean bone in her body, she just hid away when things got too overwhelming.

Taffy has been doing great in her foster home. Her foster dad reports that she is very sweet and easy to care for. She likes to give kisses, and is excited when her foster family gets back home. She shows her exuberance by spinning in circles, which is quite cute. Being a Wheaten, she's a pro at the Wheaten Greeting, and she will jump up to greet people. She's a rather petite lady at only 30 lbs. She is a medium energy dog, and while she likes to lounge and keep an eye on the neighborhood, she also likes to run in the backyard and go for walks.

Taffy is potty trained, and she sleeps well in a dog bed, in the primary bedroom along with her foster family. Taffy has lived with a senior Yorkie in her prior home, and seems to be friendly with other dogs.

Taffy would love a home where she can be accepted, included, and treasured, by someone she will give her whole heart to. Because young children intimidate Taffy, a home with older children or adults would be best. We would also prefer to see her in a home with a fenced yard (no electric fences, please).

Taffy is spayed, up to date with all vaccines, microchipped, and current on tick/flea and heartworm prevention. She also had a dental cleaning while in rescue, so her smile is even more dazzling.

If you'd like to apply to adopt Taffy, we invite you to complete an adoption application on our website.
