Taco's Story

Taco was born about May 13, 2016 and weighs just a bit over 10 lbs. He is super adorable with those large pointy ears and such a wonderful, portable, size! He is with us because a young lady was renting where the owner decided to turn it into an Air BNB and she was unable to find another place she could afford for her and her dog. Taco is not one of "those" Chihuahuas and was very friendly to us upon first meeting. He is just fine with all the other dogs, but he is mainly human oriented and would be fine living as an only dog. Taco is good on leash and travels fine in cars. We were told that he barks when something beeps in the kitchen but have not been able to duplicate this behavior as yet. Update: So, humans lie about the dogs they are giving up on a routine basis and "barks when something beeps" is a bit of an understatement, but here is the truth about his reactive behavior. Taco pays no attention to normal kitchen noises, but when the smoke alarm goes off (OK, so I'm not the best cook) he sure does bark, but more importantly he nips the legs of the nearby human or other dog! The only other time we've seen this behavior is when there is a huge commotion....let's say if you have a dozen guests and the Bills win a very important game type commotion. We have also seen a small reaction when opening/closing windows and they squeak, but this is very manageable and we correct any reaction and this is fading. Other than this oddity he easily meets new humans and is a really loving, little lap dog, that ADORES us and will also ADORE you! We are also told he is house trained, but want to be sure to stress that we feel most of these tiny dogs struggle with house training and benefit from having a potty floor pad handy for those just in case moments. We are told Taco has been fine around children, but he's soooo small that we don't feel they should be so young as to grab at him, try to pick him up and drop him, or fall on him or....if a smoke alarm goes off. So, here he is in all his adorableness hoping to find another family to LOVE him and this time forever!
The Adoption Fee for this dog is $__350.00__.

Adoptions fees vary based on adoptability.
