Taco's Story

Affectionate, curious, and energetic, Taco loves attention-soaking up compliments from everyone he meets. Who could resist those soft amber eyes, so bright with intelligence? His freckled nose and tall, dappled ears make him look like he rolled through a puddle of chocolate and shook himself into pure handsomeness.

Found by a Good Samaritan and welcomed into an IAR foster home, Taco is becoming a very courteous young man. He's crate-trained and house-trained, sleeps soundly through the night, and knows many cues including sit, down, okay, wait, and gimme five. He's studiously working on "drop it" and "off." He takes treats like a payphone takes dimes-so gentle! Favorites include carrots, bananas, hot dogs and crunchy water, though he loves all the vegetables that are safe for him to eat.

Still a young guy, Taco explores the world with his mouth, so he's safest crated when left alone for longer stretches. He loves chewing toys at (or on) your feet (see video), scritches, and couch snuggles. He loves belly rubs of all types: when he's standing, he'll lean against you and perform the most beautiful arabesque to get the longest belly for the most love. Outdoors, he delights in walks, chasing bugs, and playing with leaves, and though he can get excited by other dogs and critters, this strong, eager learner is steadily improving his leash manners. He's working hard on the proper way to greet other dogs. He loves going for rides in the car, especially to the pet store!

Taco is neutered, microchipped, heartworm negative, and up to date on vaccines.

This bright, sweet boy is ready to blossom in a loving forever home with patient guidance. Could that be yours?
