Tabitha-NEW PICS's Story
UPDATE: Tabby is doing so well in her foster home. She is slowly learning to trust and loves to sit with her new friends. Tabby loves to play with the puppies and enjoys the company of quiet children. Tabitha-Tabby is about 2 years old, 60 lbs, long haired and medium height. She is a very sweet and loving dog. When she came to us, she had very little socialization and had lived in a back yard with her brother (Fin, who has been adopted) and sister (Sammie) who lives in foster care with her. Tabby is still very shy with strangers, but has progressed considerably in her social skills and will now come to investigate new visitors shortly after they arrive. With her foster mom's friends who visit frequently, she is very friendly and affectionate. She loves to give kisses and sit on her foster mom's lap to watch TV. She loves the other dogs and is extremely fond of puppies and kittens. She is also housebroken. She has not learned to leash walk yet, but that training will begin soon. Tabby needs to be placed in a special home with a person or family who is willing to work with her and appreciate her limitations from a social perspective. She needs a 4' fence in whatever home she becomes a part of. Applications should be faxed to the shelter. Prior dog ownership is a must as is a home without young children. Applicants need to be willing to visit Tabby in her foster home and spend time with her prior to adopting her. After review of the application, Tabby's foster mom will be in touch with applicants that may be a match for Tabby.
