T O B Y's Story

Meet Toby

Toby’s story began on the streets of Stockton, where, at such a young age, he was already struggling to survive. A kind neighbour made sure he had food and water, but unfortunately, she couldn’t bring him inside because her Huskies would not accept him.

Toby was extremely fearful of people. He would sneak out to eat and drink, then quickly disappear back into his hiding spot. He was so frightened that nobody could get close enough to touch him. Eventually, a humane trap had to be used to bring him to safety.

When Toby was finally rescued, he was covered in fleas and so filthy that his beautiful white fur looked gray. It was heartbreaking to see such a tiny little boy in that condition.

For such a young pup, Toby had already experienced so much uncertainty and fear. He wasn’t a bad dog. He was simply a scared little soul who had learned to survive on his own.

But behind all that dirt and fear was the sweetest little white nugget, just waiting for someone to show him that the world could be a kind and loving place.

And now, look at him!

Toby has come out of his shell, and his sweet little personality is starting to shine!

He absolutely loves playing with his foster sister and is even learning to like cats!

He’s still a little unsure of the big world outside, but with patience, encouragement, and reassurance, he’s getting braver every day.

He’s doing fantastic with his house training, with no accidents in the house!

He’s even starting to discover the joy of playing with toys!

It’s amazing what a little love, patience, and kindness can do for a frightened little soul.

Toby still needs reassurance as he learns to trust, but he’s making wonderful progress. He deserves a family who will give him the time, patience, and love he needs to continue blossoming.

From a terrified little boy hiding on the streets to a cuddly little nugget learning how to be a puppy, Toby has already come so far.

Now all he needs is a forever family to show him that he’ll never have to be afraid or alone again.

DOXIE & FRIENDS RESCUE always has the best interest of the dog at heart. We feel it is our responsibility to place them in the best homes that will not only provide them with love, but ones that are a match . We acquire an application to be filled out . Please know that we are not trying to judge anyone's lifestyle. We only want to ensure that these dogs ,(many of whom have already had a difficult life ) find the very best homes where they can live their years in healthy, safe and loving environments. In order to protect our rescues, all adopters will be required to sign an adoption contract . With every life that is rescued, DOXIE & FRIENDS RESCUE takes responsibility for their placement. For any reason you can no longer care for your adopted dog the dog MUST be returned to DOXIE & FRIENDS RESCUE so that we can find another home. Adopters may not search for placement on their own .
