T-BONE's Story

T-Bone is a 3-year-old pup who was found as a stray on the interstate before being brought safely to IACS. Despite his uncertain past, this sweet boy greeted staff with big, happy tail wags at his kennel door and was easy to leash. Once out of his kennel, he sprinted confidently down the aisle with no reaction to the other dogs — clearly focused on the adventure ahead!

Outside, T-Bone was all about exploring. He spent most of his time sniffing his surroundings, taking it all in, but he still made time to check in. When his handler crouched down, he came right over and allowed full-body pets.

Coming back inside was no trouble, though T-Bone did briefly freeze at his kennel door. With a little encouragement and a few treats placed on the ground, he walked right in without any issues and calmly allowed his leash to be removed.

T-Bone is an independent but sweet-natured boy who’s learning that the world is a safe place again. With patience, reassurance, and a bit of love, he’ll continue to blossom into a wonderful companion. If you’re looking for a good-hearted dog ready for a fresh start, T-Bone might be the one to steal your heart.

Adoptions are free and include support from our adoption team to ensure a smooth transition from the shelter to your home. Adopted pets are vaccinated, microchipped, and spayed/neutered before leaving with you. To view our current available animals, please visit: https://indy.gov/activity/adopt-a-pet.
