Fortunately, heartworm is treatable and cost is covered thanks to Friends of CITY DOGS Cleveland. She'll just need a calm, loving home where she can rest and recover before she's back to her usual silly antics.<br/><br/>Syrena is a beautiful low-rider who is friendly, playful and curious. She is a social butterfly when it comes to people, wanting to say hi to everyone that goes by. The hubbub of the kennel means that she is excited much of the time, but in a calmer home environment, we suspect she would love relaxing into quality hangout time. She enjoys getting to side by your side while soaking up pets.<br/><br/>Spunky Syrena also has a goofy streak which comes out during play time. She can do entertaining zoomies and will keep you laughing with her antics. She has not quite mastered fetch, but will merrily chase a ball or toss a favorite toy around for herself. She's a a stout girl who can strong on leash and is working on her walking manners, but her joyful spirit makes every outing entertaining - especially when you add her piggy grunts and snorts.<br/><br/>Syrena already knows "sit" and seems like she could be housebroken. She is an attentive pup with her love of attention as well as treats. She also has quite the personality - total goofball who doesn't take life too seriously and might cover you in slobbery kisses while she's at it. <br/><br/>If you're looking for a lovable smoosh who is stout, sturdy and sweet, Syrena is your girl! You must schedule a meet with a dog in advance - we are not currently accepting walk-ins. Please look online first to see if there are any dogs you think would be a good fit for your home before scheduling a meet. To get the process started, visit www.tinyurl.com/meetacitydog and fill out the form. One of our adoption counselors will get in touch to schedule and confirm your meet! At the kennel, an adoption counselor will introduce you and your family to the adoptable dogs, share information we know about them, and discuss our suggested ways for successfully integrating a new dog into your home. You are welcome to meet multiple dogs. If the dog you adopt is already fixed, he or she may leave with you that day - otherwise, the dog can go home after receiving the spay or neuter surgery.)<br/><br/>About Our Dogs: All available dogs have gone through a behavioral and medical assessment. This assessment is a snapshot of who the dog is at that given time. We cannot make any guarantees with regard to behavior, temperament or health of any City Dog once they are in the home. Most of our dogs are picked up as strays, so we do not know what kind of home environment they were living in (i.e. with kids, other dogs or other cats), nor do we know if most of them are house trained. Everything we know about them is based on volunteer and staff observations. We do have some dogs in foster homes, where they will have more information about how the dog is in a home environment. It is very hard to tell with certainty whether or not a dog will be good with kids, cats or another dog. If you have kids in the home or another dog, we do require that they be present for a meet and greet with the dog you are considering for adoption.<br/><br/>Heath/Vaccinations: Dogs that are adopted directly from the kennel need to go to your personal vet within two weeks of leaving the kennel. All dogs receive their DAPPL, Rabies, and Bordatella vaccines, though you may be required to get follow up boosters. All dogs come microchipped and with a Cuyahoga County license.
