UPDATED 9/2/2026 Hi! My name is Sylvester! I'm a 3-year old male tricolor beagle. I'm an affectionate little guy! I'm the sweetest & coolest little thing! I used to live outside in a pen, but now I'm in a foster home & I'm LOVING it! I'm very bashful and shy, but I love to see & meet people, and cats, & horses with buggies! I'm very alert - I always know what's going on! I'll let my people know if something important is happening, like the neighbors leaving to go out. But I'm very quiet about it! LOL I'm working on housetraining in my foster home. They are teaching me to go to the door & ring a bell when I need to go outside. I'm making progress! Yeah! I'm crate trained. I've been around children who are 7 and 11 years old now & I'm good with them. I'm good with other dogs. I tend to be submissive with other dogs - I just want to get along! But I don't like to be bullied by other dogs. I'm full of energy! I will climb a chain link fence & get over it. So if I go to a home with a fenced yard, it needs to be something I can't climb over - or go under! I need to be in a securely fenced in yard or on-leash at all times when outside since I'll take off - as will most beagles! :) I'm used to traveling in a crate & I travel quite well. I'm up-to-date on vaccines & neutered! I just need a loving, patient person/family to give me a forever home! I weigh about 19 lbs. - but I could gain a couple of lbs. Nittany Beagle Rescue's Adoption Policy
Thank you for your interest in adopting a rescue dog & Nittany Beagle Rescue! We are a foster-home based rescue. We hold showings on the 1st & 3rd Saturday of the month at Lyons Kennels in Bellefonte, PA from 11am - 1pm. You can meet some of our dogs then! Please email or send a PM on our FB page if you want to know if a particular dog will be at the showing. If you are interested in a particular dog, or a type of dog, please submit an application to foster or adopt (it's the same application form). Once you have an approved application for a dog, we will connect you with the dog's foster parent. Typically the potential adopter & foster talk on the telephone first. Then if the dog seems like a good fit, we arrange a personal meet & greet.
