My name is Sweetie and my sister, Maxine, and I have a sad story to tell you. Our daddy passed away unexpectedly and we were left all alone. Grandpa made sure that we went to a specific shelter so we would not be euthanized. We have been together for so long. We would love to stay together but we desperately want a home and someone who will love us forever. Will you take me home?

Sweetie is 7 year old, 55-lb Collie (smooth) mix who is great with other dogs and kids.

Sweetie is arriving in early June from South Carolina and will go into a foster home. If you are interested in her please stop by the shelter at 490 Dunbarton Road and fill out an application. We approve many applications before dogs even arrive. You can also call the shelter at 628.3544 to check the status of a dog as we sometimes get multiple applications on one animal.

6th Annual Plant Sale & Raffle

Come shop for annuals, perennials, shrubs, vegetables and trees Saturday June 2, 2012
9am to 1pm at the Manchester Animal Shelter 490 Dunbarton Road in Manchester

Note: As with all of our dogs, we strongly recommend obedience classes for new owner and dog to create a life-long bond with the adopted dog based on trust, respect and rewarding training experiences. We are offering dog training classes through FMAS Wagtime Dog Training. You can check out more information at www.fmaswagtime.com. We can help you train practical skills you use every day with positive reinforcement training. Our shelter dogs are strays and we observe and assess their behavior at the shelter which may be somewhat different in a home environment. In addition dogs adopted from the Manchester Animal Shelter are spayed/neutered, microchipped and have received their Rabies and distemper vaccinations as well as other necessary medical care such as flea treatment. All dogs are also heartworm tested. Some prudent care such as heartworm medication is not provided at the shelter and should be taken care of at the earliest convenience upon adoption.
