Surfer's Story

Surfer was impounded at an animal shelter after being brought in by someone who supposedly found him. He was friendly, and loved attention, with his happy nub-tail wagging and body wiggling nonstop. He quickly became a shelter favorite, and we really like him also. Surfer's dog-to-dog behavior is hard to define. When he was tested with other dogs at his animal shelter, he was known to go into his play-bow mode, even with smaller dogs, but at other times he appeared extremely aroused by other dogs, as when on leash. Ideally we think Surfer should be the only dog, as he's mouthy and perhaps doesn't understand that such behaviors aren't acceptable. He'll definitely benefit from training in this regard. He's about 3 years old, weighs 75 pounds, and should be ok for teenagers thru middle-age.

Please fill out an adoption application and email it to us at dobierescue@earthlink.net You can then make an appointment to meet the dogs that match what you're looking for if we have any appropriate candidates. Male Dobermans are a $300 donation and currently females are $350. Unfortunately we are having a really hard time getting spay appointments and we have to pay more for their surgeries so we have to ask a higher donation to make ends meet. All dogs go home spayed/neutered, vaccinated, microchipped and with a collar/ID tag.
