Supernova's Story
SuperNova is as magical as her name suggests. This beautiful black lab mix has a heart full of love just waiting to bloom — she's incredibly sweet, gentle, and eager to connect. But right now, the world feels like a very big, very scary place to her.

Shy SuperNova has had a rough start. While we don't know much about her life before originally landing in the shelter, we do know she was adopted by a family with some land earlier in the year. Unfortunately she escaped just a couple days later and was lost and alone in the woods for several weeks before being found. As a result, she will need a calm, patient adopter who can help her regain confidence and trust one small step at a time.

She's making progress every day, especially with the help of other dogs in the home. That's why another well-adjusted dog is required — she relies on canine companions to show her that life can be safe and even fun. She's already beginning to understand house training by watching and following the lead of her doggy friends. She also likes cats!

Because she startles easily and is still working on feeling secure, SuperNova must have a fully fenced yard (6ft minimum) and a low-traffic home environment is preferred to start. Leash training is a work in progress, so yard access is essential while she gains confidence.

If you have a soft spot for the underdog and the patience to help a shy girl blossom, SuperNova will reward you with loyalty, trust, and the kind of love that only comes from a dog who's learned how to feel safe in your arms.
