Sunny's Story
MEET SUNNY

The message read, "the facility is full and space is needed". And the picture was a nervous yellow lab mix. It was obvious she had no idea why she had been surrendered and didn't understand where she was.

The description from shelter staff said, " Meet our shunshine girl now known as Sunny. She is a young hound/lab mix approximately 40-45lbs whose owner surrendered with no excuse or reason given. She is very affectionate, has a pleasant demeanor and does well with others at kennel gates.

IS IT WRONG FOR ME TO THINK SOMEONE WHO SURRENDERS THEIR DOG TO A KILL SHELTER IS A LOSER?

At one time someone loved Sunny- please someone want her to love now! After talking to the shelter staff it was obvious that they felt Sunny was a very special dog and certainly worthy of more than her owners thought to give.

Once we rescued her, we learned that she is heart worm positive. Apparently her owner now only gave her up, but while under their care did not consider giving her heart worm preventative nor spaying her.

SHE DESERVES BETTER!

She is currently in our vet's office being spayed, treated for heartworm and brought current on all vaccines. We expect that your treatment would be completed in September and then Sunny will be ready to find a family that won't fail in their commitment to her this time around.

Please share her in hopes of sending her HOME after her heartworm treatment. No more sad stories for Sunny from now on....this is the beginning of her NEW LIFE!
