Can you be the sunshine for our senior boy, Sunny? We're looking for a truly special, patient person for a truly special dog. Meet Sunny, a magical 12-year-old scruffy Chi/Terrier mix. This 8.5-pound sweetie has a name that perfectly matches his goal: to find a patch of sun and snooze. Don't let his age fool you—Sunny is a spry guy with pep in his step! He loves walks, adores his humans, and is friendly with other dogs and cats. Sunny's Wish List: A patient, understanding human who can give him stability. A quiet, structured home where he can be the king of his own castle. A plush, comfy bed (he gives bonus points for a bolster so he can prop his head up! ) What Sunny Needs: After so much change since leaving the shelter in early October, Sunny struggles with general anxiety and can be somewhat vocal. He just needs time, patience, and a predictable routine to help him settle and feel safe. This is your chance to give a deserving senior the one thing he wants: a stable, loving home to keep him comfortable for all his days. He is so deserving. The love you'll get back from this magical creature will be tenfold. Can you be Sunny's safe landing? Vaccinated for rabies, DHPP, and bordetella, heartworm negative, and microchipped. Current on flea, tick, and heartworm prevention. Sunny has a a dental appointment on January 7, 2026; this appointment will be covered by Waggytail Rescue, should Sunny be adopted. It is important to fill out an application as soon as possible for consideration, and we require a complete application for you to meet an animal. We are currently unable to respond to general email inquiries as an all-volunteer run rescue. If the dog is on our website, they are still available. Waggytail Rescue's Adoption Policy

Thank you for considering adopting one of our Waggytails! Adopting from us is a simple 3 step process! STEP 1: Download and complete an adoption application (www.waggytailrescue.org) and email to adopt@waggytailrescur.org. Applications will be reviewed by us and if approved we will put you in contact with the animal's foster who will answer any questions you may have and check your references. Incomplete applications cannot be considered. STEP 2: The meet and greet, a chance for you and your other family members (human and non-human) to meet your potential new Waggytail! This is the time to determine whether a dog's personality is a match for your whole family and other animals, and to see if you have allergies. Please don't wait until after adopting to really touch and handle a dog, skip the antihistamines and get those allergens all over you now! STEP 3: You love the dog! To finalize an adoption, fill out and sign the TRANSFER OF OWNERSHIP AGREEMENT (www.waggytailrescue.org) and use Paypal, Venmo or a check for the Adoption Fee (see details below). Dog Adoption/Donation Fees $550 for puppies under 1 year $450 for dogs 1 to 8 years $325 for seniors over 9 years of age Cat Adoption/Donation Fees for all cats $175 *Kittens under 6 months old MUST be adopted in pairs or to a home with another playful cat.* adoption fee includes microchip registration, age-appropriate vaccines, and spay/neuter *Add $100 neuter deposit for unfixed animals. The ADOPTION FEE may be paid by Venmo (@WaggytailRescue) or Paypal (waggytailrescue@gmail.com, add $15 processing fee unless using Friends & Family option). Please put the name of the dog in the memo section! Electronic payment is preferred, but you may also pay by check (payable to Waggytail Rescue). We use Petstablished to manage our adoption records. After an adoption is finalized, you will be sent login information that gives you access to your new dog's profile and medical records!
