Sunflower's Story
Sunflower is an 8 year old blonde shepherd, who is very calm, low energy, and easy going. She is the ultimate "go with the flow" kind of girl. And she has a remarkable story to tell about resilience, faith, and the refusal to give up.

Sunflower entered the Los Angeles City Shelter as a stray in September. She was scheduled to be euthanized a month later for enlarged mammaries (a result of not being spayed.)

The day before she was to be euthanized, she was rescued by Pedro Pet Pals and placed in foster care. There she recuperated from a terrible upper respiratory infection and finally was spayed and all of her mammary growths removed.

Sunflower has not only survived a lifetime of neglect, but she has blossomed. She is strong and confident, healthy, and has gained 20 lbs! Her mammary growths were successfully removed and according to the vet, has a long and healthy life ahead of her.

Sunflower has a calm, soft demeanor. She loves to hang out by your feet and go on neighborhood walks. She gets along with other dogs and children. She is also protective and loyal.

***Please email Paula Fox directly at: paula@pedropetpals.com***
if you would like to be the one to give Sweet Sunflower another chance at life. She hasn't come this far for nothing.
