Summer (Oberlin, Kansas)

Summer has had a rough patch the last couple of years. Her elderly owners perished in a car crash, and she ended up in an animal shelter. She was adopted by an elderly man in 2023 and now he is unable to care for himself and will be moving to Texas with his daughter in one week. <br/><br/><br/>They thought they had placement for Summer, but the woman changed her mind. They believe that Summer was a service dog for the elderly couple. She is loving, intelligent well-behaved, and is in excellent health. We found a temporary foster but they are having difficulty with a cat colony outside. <br/><br/>She is 9 yrs old, spayed up to date on shots, heartworm negative, fully vetted, and looking for a forever home. She needs to be the only pet in the home.
