Summer's Story

Meet Summer!

This little lady may be a senior, but she's full of personality! Summer is a petite German Shepherd with a heart of gold—and a bit of sass to match. She has become incredibly attached to me, following me everywhere and keeping a watchful eye on her surroundings. If anyone dares to get too close, she's quick to voice her opinion! She's protective, loyal, and absolutely adorable.

Summer is in her golden years, and while she moves at a slower pace most of the time, she can still pick up speed when she wants to! She enjoys leisurely strolls and will always take the lead, making sure I'm following her every step of the way. Though she occasionally seems a little forgetful (a tiny touch of what might be doggy dementia), she never forgets to keep me in check—or to announce her presence to everyone around her!

Despite her occasional grumpiness, Summer is a social girl who gets along well with other dogs. However, it's hard to say whether she would prefer the calm of a quiet home or if she secretly enjoys the hustle and bustle of the rescue. Either way, she's looking for a loving home where she can spend her days soaking up affection, going on slow but steady adventures, and of course, being the boss!

If you think Summer could be the perfect companion for you, we'd love to hear from you! The first step in adoption is a application.

Important Adoption Info:

A pre-approved application is required to meet our pups.
We are based in Marianna, FL, but transport is available to approved homes.
Unless stated otherwise, all dogs require a secure fenced yard for adoption.
All of our dogs come spayed/neutered, up to date on age-appropriate vaccinations, dewormed, started on flea and heartworm prevention, and microchipped.

If you have any questions, please feel free to message us!

Please share this post to help Summer find her perfect forever family! Let's get this sweet girl the home she deserves.

Rescue to the Max LLC's Adoption Policy
FENCED YARD A MUST. Pretty straight forward. We require adopters to be home owners or provide a notarized letter from landlord stating that they agree to the type/breed of animal and any rules they need to attach to their tenants regarding the animals. There also needs to be a steady rental history. We do not adopt animals that will be left to live outdoors. Adopter must have a vet reference/fenced yard and intend the animal to be treated like family. Any previous or current pets must be on monthly preventatives or have a valid vet statement as to why they were or are not.
