Summer's Story

1-year-old 50-lb spayed female black Lab mix "Summer"

Background:
Summer languished at a central valley shelter for 9 weeks (after being found as a stray) and was scheduled to be euthanized. We got her out of there just in time. {She was originally named "Welsummer" by the shelter staff.)

A nice Summer belly rub -- https://youtube.com/shorts/uxrKWdEPBgA

Summer playing the backyard -- https://youtu.be/lIUe5t-HJPM

Summer enjoying treats with her people -- https://youtu.be/K1XS4hqWR3M

Leash walk with Summer -- https://youtu.be/tA20nRayFH4

Summer and an older dog -- https://youtube.com/shorts/q-I4aS1mQX8

What Summer's current foster says.
Summer is a sweet, affectionate girl with a big heart who’s eager to show her family just how wonderful she is. She’s energetic, playful, loves mealtime, and enjoys fetch, walks, and training—she’s crate-trained, responds well to treats, knows several commands, and is working on her leash manners. Summer will thrive with an owner who has plenty of time to bond with her and should be in a cat-free home, with slow introductions recommended for small dogs or children. A securely fenced yard and two daily walks will help her burn off energy, and indoors she’s calm, loving, and eager for the consistency and encouragement that will help her settle in. She’s ready for a stable, patient home where she can finally relax and become someone’s loyal forever friend.

What Summer's Rescue Rep says.
Summer would thrive in a secure backyard where she can run and relax and re-learn how to play and enjoy life. Loves to play with plush toys. Loves to be petted and given affection by her humans. Nice leash-walks in the neighborhood will be awesome for her. Summer will need slow and steady introductions to other dogs as she is quite excited when she sees another dog.

Medical.
Summer is in fine health. Spayed, microchipped, vaccinated. Summer is missing her tail -- not sure how that happened.

Summer is currently located in: Vallejo.

If you want to adopt Summer, please contact Rescue Rep Dave at david.c.ely@sbcglobal.net
