SULLY's Story
Sully is a good boy, despite a few quirks. He can’t help the fact that he is a designer breed... He didn’t ask for his parents to be purposely bred to make money with no regard for the quality of dog produced, nor any care for him being placed in inappropriate home. Sully was never trained. He was never groomed. He was never dewormed. He was never given flea preventative. He was never neutered. And he was never taught that a crate was a safe place, not a punishment. In reality, Sully hit the jackpot when he was dumped by his previous so-called family. As a result of being abandoned, Sully has finally received the care, compassion, and training albeit a work in progress that he was denied by his previous owner. When Sully feels safe, he is really a happy guy. He is housebroken, but cannot be crated because of the panic it incites and he will hurt himself. Thankfully he has been a very good when left alone. Sully has proven to be excellent with dogs of all ages and sizes, although sometimes doesn’t know his paw span and is kind of clumsy from time to time. He is still learning how to take things gently, and how to eat slowly. He is great in the car and doing pretty well with walking on leash, although sometimes needs to be reminded of his strength. He would love an active home with teenage kids and up or no kids at all, as sometimes sounds and movements can scare him. As all poodle mixes do, he will require regular grooming as well as some brushing at home care. We think Sully is either a Labrador, gold retriever, or sheepdog mixed with a poodle, but only a DNA test would tell for sure and there are no guarantees. He is approximately a year and a half to two years, and a lean 65 to 70 pounds. All animals are current at time of adoption but in some cases a booster series is required or a vaccine cannot be given due to age and cannot be completed prior to adoption

Our adoptable animals come to us from various sources, the most common being from an animal shelter who is unable to handle their physical or mental needs in the shelter setting but believe with the appropriate care, they can become adoptable.
