Sugar's Story

✨ Meet Sugar -- the fluffiest little marshmallow you'll ever love! ✨
After 14 years with her family, this sweet girl was surrendered to the Fort Worth shelter due to "allergies." We know... our hearts cracked a little too. But Sugar isn't dwelling on the past -- she's too busy soaking up sunshine, enjoying soft beds, and rediscovering what love feels like. 🤍
Sugar is a calm, quiet gal who LOVES a cozy nap in a warm sunny spot. She gets along great with other dogs (yes, even the big goofy ones!) and has the softest, sweetest energy. Give her a few days to settle in, and you'll start to see her adorable little personality peek through.
She may not have teeth, but don't let that fool you -- she is highly motivated by soft, stinky treats. She's also learning that walkies are actually pretty fun! Cuddling isn't her main thing just yet, but she's warming up to couch snuggles, hanging out with the other dogs, and being held. And if you offer ear scritchies? Ohhhh boy. That's her favorite thing on planet Earth.
Sugar does best in a peaceful home where she can nap, putter around, and enjoy her senior-lady routine. She has had a few potty accidents, so regular trips outside (or someone who's great with gentle training) will help her succeed. She's not a barker, not into toys, and not wild in the slightest -- but she did bust out a cute little scamper when she got to explore a big backyard. It was precious.
If you've been looking for a mellow, soft, sunshine-loving sidekick who just wants a comfy spot and a kind human... Sugar is your girl. 💛🐾To have your home considered for adoption, read about our adoption process or fees, and find out about interstate transport (dogs only), please visit our website.

https://longwayhome.org/apply

❤
Long Way Home makes no guarantees on breed--most animals we receive from shelters are mixed breeds. As long as they need rescue, that's what is most important to us.
