Sugar's Story

Meet Sugar!
Sugar came into the shelter on April 27th as a surrender due to having too many animals in one home.
Sugar is still a bit of a scaredy-cat when meeting new people, but she will take cookies from strangers' hands, go on walks with volunteers, and let people pet her when she is comfortable enough. She LOVES to play in her big play group but will also take the time to just relax in the shade on her own. She walks great on a leash and is one of our more confident walkers.
Sugar always has a clean kennel and always waits her turn to use the bathroom. Shell even walk herself from the kennel to the yard and back again. But she always turns around to make sure you're still there by her side. She loves to have her peanut butter Kongs in the evenings and won't turn down a good dog biscuit either.
Our staff says that they love how Sugar loves to dive into the pool and wade in the water. They also love how she almost trots with her tail held high to the yard and back again. Lastly, they love that Sugar will gently ask for attention, and then
insist on taking over your entire lap eternally.
Come meet Sugar today at the Alpine Animal Services Shelter, 2900 Old Marathon Hwy Alpine, TX 79830.
