SUGAR's Story

Sugar arrived at the shelter on 6/18/25 as an owner surrender when her previous owner could no longer care for multiple dogs. Since then, shelter life has been tough on her. In her kennel, Sugar tends to stay toward the back and appears subdued. But don’t let that fool you.

The moment she sees a leash, Sugar lights up.

Outside in the play yard, her true personality shines. She gets excited, enjoys stretching her legs with some joyful zoomies, happily soaks up affection, and has even been known to dig a hole or two just for fun. She is calm, attentive, and listens well, forming strong bonds with her people. Sugar truly thrives on human connection and loves being close to those she trusts.

Sugar can be selective with other dogs and would do best as the only pet in the home, where she can soak up all the love and attention for herself.
