Sue Ellen's Story

Meet Sue Ellen!
This sweet, soulful girl is ready to find a forever home of her own—and she’s hoping that home might be yours. Sue Ellen is about 3 years old, the perfect size at 42 lbs, and fully grown. While her exact breed can’t be confirmed without a DNA test, we think she may be some sort of bully breed—maybe even a Staffie mix! Sadly, bully breeds often face unfair stereotypes that prevent millions from being adopted each year. Sue Ellen is living proof of just how loving, loyal, and wonderful they truly are.

We don’t know much about her past, but it’s clear Sue Ellen was once a mama dog. She’s currently living with one of our rescue partners in Texas, where she’s thriving—but everyone agrees she deserves a family to call her own. Playful, affectionate, and full of personality, Sue Ellen is a total lovebug. She enjoys tug-o’-war, chasing a ball, and going for walks (where she’s excellent on leash). Described as the ultimate “good house guest,” she’s just as content lounging inside as she is being part of the family fun.

Sue Ellen has done wonderfully with dogs of all shapes, sizes, and ages, and we think she could easily share her home with another friendly pup. She’s also met children without issue, though we always recommend slow, supervised introductions. Smart and eager to please, she already knows some basics, and with continued training, she’ll only shine brighter. Her potty training is going well, though as with any new home, patience and consistency are important.

She has an average-to-medium energy level, making her a great fit for an adopter who enjoys daily walks, play sessions, and family time, but also appreciates a pup who can settle down for couch cuddles. A yard would be ideal for her zoomies, but apartments or condos will be considered as long as there’s nearby space for her to play. More than anything, Sue Ellen needs someone committed to keeping her happy, healthy, and loved.

Health:
Sue Ellen is spayed, microchipped, up-to-date on vaccinations, heartworm negative, and on monthly preventatives.

Transport Info:
All of our dogs, including Sue Ellen, are currently located in Texas and will be transported to adopters after placement. Transport is included in the adoption fee. While breed labels are educated guesses, we encourage adopters to focus on personality, lifestyle compatibility, and long-term commitment—not breed alone.

MA License #479
