Stryker's Story

Meet Stryker.

He is a handsome German shepherd male. He's an 11-month-old youngster coming with all that goofy energy that entails. There is still a lot for him to learn but, he is ready for his perfect home that will provide the guidance, soft bed, love and his best friend. After a month of folks trying to catch him, a kind man befriend Stryker so animal control could come pick him up. He was very scared, very emaciated. Understandably, he was shut down and wary of people when he first came in. With the wonderful help of our volunteer trainers, consistent food and a lot of love, Stryker's personality is coming out and he's proving that all the extra care if worth it. He is a talented boy, smart, and willing to learn anything you explain. One trainer notes that he is going to be a superior sport Nosework/Scentwork competitor and likely be a fun agility partner.

"There is a solid brain in there and a lot of heart. He will glory in a job, and make you proud. Now he needs his own people, consistency and a knowledgeable, gentle hand."

Stryker is a 67 pound youngster. When his zoomies kick in he does not know how big or strong he is..so a home with smaller children is not advisable. He still has to overcome his suspicion of strangers. It does not take much for him to decide that good hearts are his best friends. It will take patience and time, but Stryker is destined to be someone's soul dog, even with humans having failed him in the short amount of time he has been alive.

If you believe you are Stryker's soul human please do not hesitate to call the Loudon County Animal Shelter at 865-458-5593
