Stormie's Story
This happy, playful super-sweet 6 year old Rotti/Lab mix had the great fortune of catching our eye at a high-kill shelter in GA. Dubbed the "Shelter Favorite" we fell madly in love at first sight. That smile. Those eyes. So we said YES!!!! We had her taken by a volunteer to a local Vet out in GA to be neutered, vaccinated, well-care visit, etc. - she is now healthy and up to date! We do not have much history on Stormie, but the following is an update from her foster:Hi Everyone! I have been fostering this lovely girl for a while now and she is ready to move on. Shes had a tough road, and has some baggage. She has come a long way but needs a quiet home with few strangers. Ideally, she would love to have just one person to call her own. She is a VERY good girl with "her" person. Very easy and obedient. She gets nervous when there are more people around and she is very protective (possessive) of "her" person. A couple of people could work for her, but they would absolutely need to know and understand how to address these types of behaviors. once she knows the rules, she is very good. For obvious reasons, Stormie needs a home with no children. She is selectively happy with other dogs, but not cat tested. (we could do that if needed). 2-3 years old (estimate), housebroken, spayed, and up to date on vaccinations. Stormie is a great dog whos been through it and is ready for a new chapter. She just needs a compassionate Rotti family to help us save her life again. Our wonderful Foster to Adopt Option is a great way to experience adding a new family member, without making a lifetime commitment first. No pressure, no second thoughts, just enjoy your time together and see if the chemistry is right and it's a fit for your home. Our standard program requires the minimum commitment of 2 weeks. All supplies/loaner crates/support are provided. Its a total win-win!! Since we know that Stormie will require time to adjust, we would appreciate you would commit to at least a 1 month trial because you will likely not see her wonderful personality before that. Please fill out the application in this write-up below if interested in fostering. Incomplete applications will not be considered. Phone calls, texts, emails will not expedite this process. We are run exclusively by volunteers who work long hours. After completing the simple application below, if you are selected for next steps you will be contacted to discuss further. At that time we will answer all your questions and also arrange a meet and greet. Thank you.
