Stormi's Story

Hi, I'm Stormi and I'm a 1 year old Australian Kelpie mix. I'm fully grown at 29 pounds with a beautiful shiny black coat. My Foster Mom says I have the most adorable face - do you think so too?
I'm a very loving and cuddly pup who absolutely loves being close to my people. I'm super smart and also super playful - I love toys, playing with my peeps and I get along great with other dogs too. I just graduated from training school and I'm very proud of myself! I know how to:
* Sit
* Go to my place
* Walk nicely on a leash
* Come when called
* I'm also potty trained and crate trained - I try very hard to be a good girl!

I love being active too! Whether it's hiking, going for walks, playing in the yard or snuggling on the couch. I'm happy doing whatever my humans are doing.

I would thrive with a family who can give me regular exercise and mental stimulation - things like a fenced in yard, walks, outside adventures and fun puzzle toys would make me so happy. Most of all, I just want a family to love! I have a big heart, lots of loyalty and so many cuddles to give. My Foster home is in the Philadelphia area and I'm available there and the tri-state area. Reach out to Long Road Home Rescue (lrhrescue.com or 516-459-3509) to get lots more info on me and set up time to come meet me. I'm waiting for you!

Long Road Home's Adoption Policy
Where do we get our dogs? Majority of our dogs come from high kill shelters. Some are owner surrender or strays. All of the dogs that come into our rescue have been in high emergency situations where they would not be wagging their tails. We work with a lot of shelters in the south as well as on long island. We have wonderful people who dedicate their time to the dogs and transport them into our long island foster homes. What happens to the dog after we accept it into the program? All of the dogs first go to see a vet. Once they receive a clean bill of health the go into a home. We normally give each dog at least a week in a home with qualified trainer before we place the dog into a foster. We really like to have the dogs house broken and to have at least started basic obedience training. After the trainer we place the dog into its new foster home until it finds its forever home.
