Stewart's Story

Stewart is a 2-year-old pitbull mix with the kindest soul. He gets along with dogs and people. He’s a gentle, happy boy who just wants to love and be loved.
Stewart’s story is heartbreaking but full of hope. When he was just 4 months old, his previous owner brought him to be neutered, and the vet discovered his jaw had likely been broken. Because they couldn’t afford treatment, Stewart lived for 8 months unable to fully open his mouth – only about an inch.
Stewart went to a specialist in Bakersfield and had a CT scan. It showed that after his jaw fracture healed improperly, a bridge of bone grew and kept his jaw nearly shut. Thanks to amazing veterinary care, Stewart is now able to open his mouth, eat comfortably, and enjoy life like every dog deserves.
He’s ready for a forever home where he can finally have the happy life he’s always deserved.
If you’re looking for a loyal, gentle companion with a heart of gold, Stewart is your guy!

• If you have any questions or are interested in adopting a dog or cat TEXT us at 661-839-2200.
