Stevie Nicks's Story

Stevie Nicks and her brother were dumped at the end of our road in our neighbors driveway. She is estimated to be about 9 months old as of Feb 26.
She is an extremely sweet girl who's a little shy at first. Her brother is her confidence and as we're trying to let them learn to be their own dogs and less dependent on each other, she's having a hard time but is getting there.

She's all puppy, loves to play, is interested in all the things that smell, gets the zoomies and is a jumper. At the same time, she's smart, eager to please and very food motivated so training shouldn't be difficult. She is already crate trained and though potty training has been a challenge, we know she'll learn fast once she has a consistent trainer.

Stevie and her brother have clearly been together since birth, so they both are experiencing separation anxiety as we're trying to adjust them to being separated and learn how to be their own dog. They will howl when left alone, so we do not recommend them to be apartment or condo dogs unless you have understanding neighbors who can be patient with you during the training process. We highly recommend Stevie be adopted with another dog in the family. She is dog friendly and very respectful of cats and their space.

Stevie is heartworm negative, up to date on her shots, microchipped and scheduled to be spayed 12/10/2025 so she will be available for adoption after then. If you'd like to meet her, please send us a message!

WARM - Waccamaw Animal Rescue Mission's Adoption Policy
To begin the adoption process, adopters are required to fill out an application form. Upon receipt a volunteer will conduct a background check with your current or former veterinarian. If a vet is not listed, please explain why. Once a background check has been conducted and approved, a volunteer will email you to set up a meet and greet with the animal you are interested in. If you are applying for a dog and currently have dogs, we do require you to bring them to the meet and greet so that we can see if they will be a good match together. If all goes well with the meet and greet, we then schedule a home visit. It is important that we approve the environment where our adoptees will live the rest of their lives. It's equally important that they meet other animals that live in the same home. Once the application, meet and greet, and home visit notes are reviewed by the Board of Directors, a volunteer will contact you regarding approval or non-approval. We appreciate your kindness, understanding, and patience in this process. Please remember we are volunteers doing this in our free time, so the process can take up to a week or more depending on our volunteers and your schedule. We can't stress enough that these animals have been through a lot in their lives before they came to the rescue. Their well-being comes first. It is very stressful for an animal to bounce from home to rescue to home to rescue, etc. Our goal is to find them their forever home and to not end up back in the system or ever have to relive what they’ve already been through.
