Stevie's Story
Stevie is currently living and training with her handlers at Lawrenceville Correctional Center.

Through a partnership with the Virginia Department of Corrections, Pixie's Pen Pals (a program of FETCH a Cure) places homeless dogs in the care of incarcerated people for dedicated, individualized training and socialization guided by canine behavior specialists.

The bio below was provided by her handlers in Lawrenceville Correctional Facility:

Hi, my name is Stevie. I am one year old, but I act like I'm much older. I'm a Shepherd mix and I am looking for a good home. I'm a little scaredy cat with loud noises, and can be leery of new places, but my sweetness and gentleness overrides my fear. I love people very much, and love to cuddle if you let me in your lap. I'm potty trained, and can hold my water better than any pup this side of the Mississippi. I love my crate and find that it's a source of comfort for me. I'm not a big fan of toys, but I love a good rawhide chew. I hardly ever bark, so I won't make the neighbor's mad at us. I'm a good girl, and won't get on the furniture without your permission. If you are reading about me...fate has brought us together... come and visit me!
