STEVIE's Story

**Allow us to introduce you to Stevie!**

Just one look into those beautiful blue eyes and Stevie will have you **hypnotized!**

Stevie was adopted as a puppy and is now about **1 year old**. As we all know, young dogs still have a lot of growing, learning, and testing the waters to do. Stevie is no different. He needs **structure, activity, attention, and a family who is willing to continue working with him.**

Our boy loves:
Playing with toys
Going for walks
Being loved on
Getting brushed and pampered
Being part of the family

Stevie would ideally do best with an **active family** that wants a dog who can participate in their daily life.

Stevie was recently returned because his previous family’s circumstances changed. Members of the household had to return to work, and when Stevie was left alone for extended periods, he became destructive in the apartment. Sometimes, no matter how much we want to make things work, a dog simply isn't the right match for a particular family.

We are grateful that his former adopter gave Stevie a chance, and as always, **we welcomed him back.**

His return does **not** make Stevie a bad dog. It simply means that the situation wasn't the right fit for him.

We want to be upfront with anyone considering Stevie: **he will need some work and continued training.** In the beginning, when you need to leave him home alone, it is best that **Stevie be kenneled during those times** rather than given free access to the home. This will help prevent destructive behavior while he learns his new routine and what is expected of him. As he becomes more comfortable, learns his boundaries, and earns more freedom, his family can gradually work toward giving him additional space.

The good news? Stevie has already adjusted beautifully back to our schedule here, so we know he can learn what is expected of him with consistency, guidance, and a routine.

When Stevie was originally rescued from the shelter to save him from euthanasia, we were told he was a terrier. Well... he may have been a **little bigger than everyone anticipated!**

We are calling him a **mixed terrier breed**, and he is now full grown.

Stevie is an absolute **ham** who loves attention and being doted on. He is looking for a family who will love him, keep him active, give him structure, and help him continue becoming the wonderful dog we know he can be.

**Could Stevie be your perfect match?**

How to Adopt a Dog from ARF
Animal Rescue of Fresno is a Volunteer Managed & Operated Dog Rescue.
We are available by Appointment Only.
Adoptions begin with an Approved Application you can find the application at our website at www.arf-fresno.com

Application can be found in the drop-down menu above, click "ADOPT"
Mobile users click three lines at top of page to see "ADOPT"
Business Hours: By Appointment Only

We will review each submitted application, then contact the approved adopter via email.
