Stevie's Story

Meet Stevie! CAN YOU SAY EYE CANDY?! If you’re looking for a cuddle buddy who loves podcasts, listening to music, and getting TONS of belly rubs-look no further!! Stevie came to us after an unfortunate start. He was found in deplorable conditions in Eastern Kentucky that left him completely blind due to the high levels of ammonia exposure in the home from excessive amounts of waste- but that doesn’t stop him! Stevie is incredibly full of life and joy. He loves to play, snuggle, and wags his tail every time he eats! Since entering foster care, he’s been on anxiety medication that will need to be continued. He gets scared if he can’t hear his people as he has become so used to the love he never received! It does take a few days for him to settle into a new routine, but once it’s down he is just like any other happy-go-lucky dog. Because of his anxiety, Stevie would also do best in a home where the owner is home more often or works from home. He absolutely loves to be snuggled up next to his people and getting all of the pets and belly rubs you have to offer!

Name: Stevie
Age: 3 Years Old
Sex: Male
Breed: Chihuahua Mix
Weight: 15 lbs
Located In: Richmond, KY
Temperament/ Energy Level: Medium Energy
Recommendation for Kids: Yes
Relationship with Dogs: Yes
Relationship with Cats: Yes
Neutered/ Spayed: Yes
Crate Trained: No, due to his anxiety and blindness
House Trained: In Progress
Leash Trained: In Progress
Fence Required: No, as long as his people go outside with him he will follow your voice
Special Requirements: Adopter would need patience with a blind dog and developing a routine that suits your lifestyle!

PLEASE NOTE: To apply to adopt, the application and adoption process can be found on our website https://www.kyhopefulpaws.com/adopt.

Please read dog's bio carefully before applying.
