Meet Steve-O! Named in honor of the amazing dog warden, Steve, Steve-O came to us from Westmoreland County where he was found as a stray. He recently had a vet visit where the staff there fell COMPLETELY in love! Although he's adored by many, this charmer is looking for the people who will make him their world. Steve-O is dog friendly and would do well in most households. Butler County Humane Society's Adoption Policy
Our adoption process is quite thorough. We require potential adopters to fill out an application. This application includes listing if they rent or own their home, we verify that they either own or have permission to adopt from landlord they rent from. We require all current animals in the house to be up to date on all required vaccinations and spayed/neutered prior to adopting from us. They must provide a veterinary reference if they have owned an animal in the past 5 yrs so we can verify they were not negligent pet parents. We also require two references (must not live in same household, and only 1 can be a family member). We conduct dog intro's here at the facility to ensure our animals are going home to a welcome environment. Sometimes multiple visits are needed. We also ask them if they have any topics they are concerned about or need more information about.
