Meet Steve
Meet STEVE! STEVE is a 20 pound, 3 year old Spaniel mix, rescued from a kill shelter in West Virginia. He’s a bit shy upon meeting but warms up very quickly, and LOVES to cuddle! He’s crate and potty trained!
STEVE tested positive for Lyme, which is a tick-borne disease and NOT contagious to other animals or people. While it can be treated with antibiotics, it cannot be cured. For the most part, it lays dormant in their system but flare ups can and do occur. Common symptoms of a flare up include lethargy and joint pain/inflammation. Usually another dose of antibiotics will be enough for the disease to go dormant again. He will need a yearly Lyme vaccine and may need blood work as she ages, because Lyme can affect the kidneys. We have adopted many dogs over past years with Lyme, and those dogs are living healthy happy lives!
If you are interested in meeting this gorgeous boy, visit our website at www.rescueahart.org to fill out an adoption application!
All HART dogs are spayed/neutered, microchipped and up to date on all vaccines, including bordatella and rabies. They are heartworm tested and on preventative for heartworm, fleas, and ticks. If you are interested in any of our pets, you must complete an online dog adoption application at www.rescueAhart.org . The application will put you in touch with this wonderful dog's foster family so you can schedule a meeting. Thanks! www.rescueAhart.org
