Here is what Stella's foster mom and some of Stella's other favorite people have to say about this special girl! <br/><br/>Stella is a 3-5 year old female Black Mouth Cur Mix. She is the perfect combination of a couch potato, pro athlete, snuggle bug, and lover of the outdoors! <br/><br/>Stella's Ideal New Family: Adult only household with no other animals or dogs. It would be best for Stella's new family to have big dog experience and be patient, understanding, and excited about continuing her training...a fenced in yard would be amazing as well! <br/><br/>We're not sure how it's possible, but Stella is a 60lb dog with a 100lb heart of solid gold. Everyone who meets her falls in love with her instantly, and we were no different when we first welcomed her into our home in February 2023. She loves big and purely. Her people are her everything; she just wants to please them and be at their side. She's great for snuggles and face-washing kisses. She is a gentle soul who has faced more challenges in her short life than most dogs ever will. Stella's journey has been filled with hardships and setbacks, but her unyielding spirit shines through. Your heart melts every time she looks at you with her big brown eyes! <br/><br/>Backstory - Stella prefers to live in the now and in the future and holds no grudges from her past life. But she is a Southern stray from a kill shelter who was returned once after a mismatched adoption. She has scars along her body from an unknown incident before arriving at Safe Tails Animal Rescue. Thankfully they does not seem to bother her or cause her any pain.<br/><br/>This lucky girl has been getting 2 training sessions a week since September 2023 with Kathryn Wisniewski, CPDT-KA of The Balanced Canine, and Jordan of Nature Pups LLC and they are committed to providing some free training with her new family! <br/><br/>The good news is that despite no formal training before being fostered, she has already put in the hard work and is now really ready for her furever home! She is well on her way to overcoming her reactivity/fear of other dogs and cars on busy streets; she knows all the basic commands like the back of her paw, walks fantastic on a leash, is getting radio/e-collar trained and is currently working on learning some extra fun stuff like a fancy heel, retrieving/holding something, "look at me", nose work, and rally obedience!<br/><br/>"If we didnt already have a rescue of our own, Stella would have found a permanent place in our family.
