In all his years, he said he never met such a sweet, gentle girl and all with all that pain he just couldn’t imagine! Yet, Stella let these strangers at the vet do anything and everything without ever even needing a muzzle, which he said is unheard of. Now, that Stella is on the other side of what almost killed her~ a car and then HER FAMILY!!! She deserves a whole new life of love and joy and knowing what a true home looks like and real unconditional love feels like. You see, Stella had a life and family in Florida that she gave her whole heart to. Dog Lover Rescue ended up finding out though, that her owners kept her outdoors 24/7~ a shepherd in Florida! Without even a doghouse or proper fence…so when she got out to play with a puppy down the street, as often happened, (we came to find out), this day Stella survived, but her buddy did not. Sadly, when she was hit by a car and needed her humans most, they told the vet to just put her down. She survived the unthinkable and laid by the side of the highway for a day before they even noticed she was missing! Animal control picked her up and brought her to the local vet. Soon, Dog Lover Rescue got a call and we decided to do whatever this precious girl needed to get her a new beginning with a family that wouldn’t ever abandon her in her time of need. Stella had extensive injuries and two broken legs, but Dog Lover Rescue pledged to be there for whatever she needed. She is 6 weeks out and what an incredibly strong girl- again, she blew her team away by walking in her casts within 48 hrs! Stella loves to be around her people, she so social and sweet, but then she quietly retreats to her dog bed, she loves her strolls, too, but it will be some time before miles of walking. So, if you are a home that can nurture this angel with your love and easy going spirit, you have found your soul mate. She is gentle and calm and quiet, full of love and affection. A fenced in yard with some sunshine, even better! Doggie beds around the house so she can bed hop to stay wherever you are, the best! If you want a loyal soul mate with the gentlest loving personality. She is great with kids and even cats and dogs- but she would do best with those gentle and calm like her. She’s also potty trained & just the easiest dog. 6 yrs, 57 lbs, spayed & vaccinated.

Dog Lover Rescue's Adoption Policy

Once an application has been submitted, which is done online at www.DogLoverRescue.org, we will reach out within 24-48 hrs. Make sure your applications are COMPLETE! It is important to share as much detail as you can on those- about yourself, your family and your pets. This helps us with our MATCHMAKING approach- forever should mean- forever! We work so hard to match you with a dog that is truly a great fit and vice versa and have an impeccable record with this that we are so proud of! We then schedule a in-person meeting/ home check and get into the details! We love these opportunities to meet the families, other dogs and pets! Occasionally, we will do virtual meeting/ home checks for out of state homes we are not able to travel to in a timely manner. ***Please note: we prioritize those that submit applications and regret that we cannot answer individual emails, as that would be a whole other job in and of, itself. We receive an overwhelming amount of messaging daily and because we are always fighting the clock for our rescues in kill shelters, we have come to determine putting applicants over all else is the most efficient way. It also lets us know who is truly serious and willing to give their time for an application, and then worth our time for consideration. We greatly appreciate those that respect and follow our process! All questions will be answered in those follow up calls and meetings! Rest assured, we are committed to all of our applicants to finding the most wonderful match and together, saving a life in need!
