Stella Terrier Mix Temple, TX

This precious one is Stella! She is a dainty senior girl, around 12 years old and around 7lbs, thanks to her foster mom fattening her up a bit. she came to rescue in rough shape, but her teeth have been cleaned, she has seen a vet for vaccines, is heartworm negative and is getting spoiled while she waits for her next happily ever after. Why should you consider a senior dog? Many are already trained. Stella here is kennel trained, and seems house trained but will also use a piddle pad. Stella has a lot of love to give, she is content with a cozy home, regular meal and someone to love her.

She loves soft food and doesn't want to share her bounty. We hope the food guarding will go away once she is used to a regular meal, but she eats peacefully in her kennel. She must have been used to eating soft people food because she watches her foster mom closely in case any morsel should fall or she be lucky enough to receive a bite. She would blossom as an only dog or with another dog that didn't crave people food and a family who understood her need to eat separately. Because of her age and persnickety ways she shoudl not be in a home with small children. If they visit, she would me most comfortable in a quiety room until company leaves. She loves her snuggly donut doggie bed.
