Stella's Story
Beautiful Stella is ready for a home of her own and has been waiting for way too long 💞🐾 Stella also needs a new foster home, as she is not thriving in her current placement. An adopter would be ideal, but a committed, active foster is also very much needed so she can succeed. Stella just turned 1 year old and is a Shepherd / Husky / Belgian Malinois mix.

Stella came from a litter of “working dogs” where the puppies were kept outdoors and under-socialized until about 9 weeks old, then given away outside of a store. She didn’t have the best start in life, but she has made incredible progress and has so much potential.

She is great in the car and is learning to walk nicely on leash. Walks are going really well — she doesn’t react to dogs barking or running along fences, stays calm, and shows very little pulling. We’re still working on it, and she improves every day. Stella is very food-motivated, a fast learner, and incredibly intelligent — true shepherd brain. She’s a curious, busy girl who needs help staying focused and someone willing to continue her training.

She’s a giant puppy with lots of energy, still learning manners and figuring out the world. Stella is crate trained and housebroken as long as she’s kept on a strict, consistent schedule.

Stella can be shy at first and needs time to warm up, but once she does, she becomes your loyal best friend. She has done wonderfully with every dog she’s met and has gained confidence from her buddy Spike, so she would do well in a home with another dog. She could also adjust to being an only dog with enough time, patience, and structure. She has never shown any signs of aggression. She loves her Kong, enjoys fetch, and thrives with mental and physical enrichment.

Stella needs an active home with someone who has time for a young, high-energy pup and is committed to daily walks, structure, and continued training. If you’re experienced, active, and ready to invest in a smart, loyal companion, Stella is ready for you!
