Casper and Furry Friends Animal Rescue's Adoption Policy
Casper and Furry Friends Animal Rescue (CAFFAR) Adoption Protocol We are thrilled that you’re considering giving a forever home to one of our rescued pets! Our process is designed to ensure the best match between pets and adopters, fostering a successful and loving partnership. 1. Adoption Application: Fill out our adoption application form, which helps us understand your lifestyle, experience with pets, and what you’re looking for in a companion. This form is available on our website or can be emailed to you upon request. 2. Application Review & Interview: Once we receive your application, our team will review it and schedule an interview. This may be conducted over the phone, via video call, or in person. During this conversation, we’ll clarify any questions you may have and discuss the specific needs and personality of the pet you’re interested in adopting. We want to ensure that both you and the pet are the perfect match. 3. Virtual Meet and Greet / Home Check: We conduct a virtual meet and greet via FaceTime or video call. This allows you to meet the pet and ask any questions about their behavior, needs, and compatibility with your household. During this call, our team will also conduct a virtual home check to ensure the environment is safe and suitable for your new companion. It’s a great opportunity for both parties to interact and ensure a smooth transition for the pet. 4. Application Approval: Once all the steps are completed, and both parties feel confident, we will notify you of the approval status. If approved, we will coordinate the next steps to finalize the adoption. 5. Adoption Contract: After approval, you will be asked to sign an adoption contract. This document outlines the adopter’s commitment to the pet’s care and well-being and details our ongoing support for you as the adopter. It also specifies the organization’s rights in case the adoption doesn’t work out. 6. Adoption Fee: Our adoption fees help cover the cost of veterinary care, vaccinations, microchipping, spaying/neutering, and other essential services that ensure the well-being of our pets. Fees vary based on the animal, and we will provide you with this information upfront. 7. Transition Support & Post-Adoption Guidance: We’re here for you even after the adoption is complete! We provide ongoing support to help your new pet adjust to their forever home. Whether you need advice on behavior, nutrition, or settling in, our team is just a phone call or email away. We also offer connections to trainers and veterinarians, if needed. 8. Adjustment Period: Bringing a new pet into your home is exciting, but it also requires patience. Your new companion may need time to adjust to their surroundings, and we encourage adopters to be gentle and consistent as the pet adapts. Creating a safe, loving environment will help foster a smooth transition. All of our pets are rescued from the Houston, TX, area, and we provide full transparency regarding their history, behavior, and health status. Thank you for choosing to adopt and save a life!
