As part of the Packer Litter of five, Starr waited months for her chance to leave the shelter behind. She has now safely arrived in Wisconsin and is settling nicely into her foster home.<br/><br/>Meet Starr<br/><br/>Starr is a brown Lab mix who is approximately seven months old and weighs around 35–40 pounds. She is sweet, friendly, and loving, with a gentle personality that shines despite her difficult start. Starr is dog friendly and kid friendly. While she has not been cat tested, her young age suggests she would likely do well with cats given proper introductions.<br/><br/>Having grown up in a shelter environment, Starr is just beginning to learn what home life is all about. She will need continued help with potty training, crate training, and leash manners. Mutt Life Dog Rescue of Wisconsin's Adoption Policy
Review adoption requirements and ensure you meet the necessary criteria to apply! Apply: Fill out adoption application completely and submit all necessary documents. Application processing: we do a thorough background check, landlord approval (if applicable) or home ownership verification, vet check, and review your application. This process can take up to 5 business days. note: if renting, please have your landlord write letter of approval for you to have a dog, including breed restrictions, and either send to muttlifeapps@gmail.com or submit document during application submission.? Please authorize your vet to release medical information with Mutt Life. ? Application Decision: approved applicants will be notified via phone call and email. ?Foster-to-Adopt Trial Period: after approval, you have the opportunity to do a meet and greet and bring your dog home! You get a 5 day foster-to-adopt (FTA) period to make sure its the right fit. Final Decision: By the end of the FTA period, please let us know your final decision to adopt or return the dog to our rescue. Home Visit: After the adoption process we conduct a home visit either in person or via zoom meeting to ensure that everything is going well with the transition and to answer any final questions you may have. Neuter/spay for puppies: if dogs are adopted prior to 6 months of age and are not neutered/spayed yet, we will work with you to coordinate an appointment with one of our veterinary clinic partners or you can go through your vet and we will give you a partial adoption fee reimbursement. **Note: Adoptions are not considered final until the dog is neutered/spayed if applicable**
