Star's Story

April 12, 2025
What. A. Day.
My foster parents took me and the resident dog on a big adventure to Allegany State Park! We were checking out some cabins (I think they were imagining cozy weekends away… I was imagining all the squirrels I might see!). We hiked one of the cabin trails, and ohhh the smells! I stuck my nose into every leaf pile and mossy patch I could find. Best part? I got to splash around in the creek! My foster mom said it was cold, but I thought it was amazing. Water + woods = my kinda paradise.
After that, she took me for a little jog, and let me tell you — I was in absolute heaven. The wind in my fur, paws on the trail, heart full of joy.
Then, we hit up Lowe’s and Tractor Supply where I made friends of all ages. Little kids, grown-ups, folks with paint cans — everyone wanted to pet me! My foster mom says I’m doing awesome with my socialization, and honestly, I agree. I’m getting really good at this whole being-a-good-dog thing.
But as much fun as today was, I have to admit… I’d really love a forever family of my own. Someone to take me on adventures, splash in creeks with me, and maybe sneak me a treat or two on cabin weekends. Could that be you?

Adoption fee includes: Spay or neuter, age appropriate vaccinations, treated for worm, fleas and ticks, and micro-chipped (we register the micro-chip in your name for you). If this dog is not spayed or neutered at time of adoption, our volunteer will set up the spay/neuter appointment prior to adoption and adopter will be provided with the appointment place, date and time.

If you are preapproved to adopt please either private message our Facebook page or send us an email at: 7heartsrescue@gmail.com If you have not yet been approved you can apply on the website: www.7hearts.org

Because our application approval process requires a physical home visit, our adoption radius is limited to within a 45 minute drive of Buffalo, NY.

Potential adopters submit an application via our website. Once submitted, we call vet reference and 2 personal references and perform a physical home visit of the potential adopter's home. If all of the above is satisfactory, we send them an email verifying they are approved and give them an Approval Card. If they have resident pets, we will bring the dog or pup that they are interested in to their home for a meet and greet with resident pets and family members to make sure it is a good fit. If all goes well, an adoption contract is signed and we provide the adopter with a folder that provides info on all medical care, other helpful information about caring for their new pet. The contract states that if they decide not to keep the dog or pup, they are required to return the pet to our rescue.
