Stanley(REDUCED FEE!)'s Story
** A VERY GENEROUS DONOR IS SPONSORING $175 OF STANLEY'S ADOPTION FEE, ALONG WITH THE FEES OF HIS LITTERMATES, TO REDUCE THEIR ADOPTION FEES TO $300 IN HOPES THEY'LL FIND THEIR FOREVER FAMILIES SOON!** Sweet, social, and steadfast are just a few words to describe Stanley, a wonderful pup searching for his forever family. His delightful, gentle demeanor wins over all who meet him, and he'll be a phenomenal companion for almost any home. Stanley is playful, curious, and engaging, but is also more mellow and observant than some of his littermates. He'll make an ideal pup for a household looking for a fun-loving dog who is always up for a long walk or game of fetch, but also one who knows how to settle down and doesn't need constant entertainment. His mild-mannered, easy-going, and loving personality will fill one lucky home with limitless companionship and joy. Stanley was initially rescued from an overwhelmed animal control facility in rural Kentucky, along with his six littermates, when they were just eight weeks old. Shelters and rescues across the US are in crisis, adoptions have slowed considerably over the past 18 months, and surrenders and intakes are way up. In previous years, puppies in shelters and rescues were generally adopted quickly, often as soon as they became available. Unfortunately, within the past year, it has become more common for very friendly, adoptable dogs, including puppies, to remain in shelters or foster care for many months before being adopted. Casualties of this current shelter and rescue crisis, Stanley and four littermates have grown up in foster care while awaiting adoption. These sweet pups are more than ready and anxious to find the loving, forever families they so deserve. Approaching 8 months old and weighing over 50 pounds, Stanley will be a larger dog (70+ pounds) when fully mature. A DNA test performed on two littermates identifies their breed mix as 35% Bluetick Coonhound, 27%. German Shepherd, 23% Husky, 15% Staffordshire Terrier. Stanley loves a good run around the yard and game of fetch, but also loves lounging around and sunbathing on the deck. He's not a hyper or overly active dog; he's more mellow than many pups his age. Still, he is a puppy, and potential adopters expect to continue his training and provide the guidance, structure, patience, and love that all puppies and adolescent dogs need to develop into exceptional canine citizens as adults.<br/>Stanley is crate-trained and making good progress with his housebreaking when kept on a regular schedule. If Stanley sounds like the pup you've been searching for, please reach out today! He's anxious and eager to meet you. Stanley is fostered in Chicago, and meetings are arranged by appointment only after an adoption application has been received and approved.
