Stanley's Story
Meet Stanley!

6 years • 44 lbs

Stanley—also known as Stan the Man and occasionally The Potato—is the perfect blend of gentle, goofy, affectionate, and easygoing. He’s fully house trained and hasn’t had a single accident in his foster home; when he needs to go out, he simply whines softly or paces to let you know. He’s also crate trained and walks right in without any fuss. On leash, he does just fine and enjoys a simple stroll.

Stanley has a wonderfully balanced energy level. He’ll happily play with you for 15–20 minutes, then plop down to relax like the chill king he is. He loves people, attention, snuggling, and just being near his humans. He’s social with other dogs, very respectful of their boundaries, and listens extremely well—if you tell him “no,” he truly takes it to heart. He’s also been great with cats, giving a polite sniff and then deciding they’re not especially interesting. While he hasn’t lived with kids in his foster home, his temperament suggests he’d likely do just fine with them.

He’s not a big barker—just a little “hey, let me in!” or an alert when someone’s at the door. He enjoys stuffed squeaky toys and balls, loves all treats (though he’s on limited snacks right now), and doesn’t have many dislikes… other than ear drops. He’s currently finishing up a week-long round of ear medication and takes joint meds and an allergy pill, but he handles it all like a champ.

Stanley is affectionate, curious, gentle, smart, snuggly, and just the right amount of lazy. He’s independent when he wants to be and goofy when the moment calls for it. This respectful, loving, well-mannered guy is such an easy companion—just a sweet soul who wants to be by your side. If you’re looking for a mellow best friend who listens beautifully and offers endless love, Stanley might be your perfect match.

Interested in adopting?
